The Henley HandyBus has been serving people living in and around Henley for over 30 years. It helps people to get out and about, to meet their friends and to go shopping locally and twice each month to Reading.
The bus will collect you from your home and take you to various places in Henley on a daily basis. It carries all kinds of people including those with mobility difficulties and people who perhaps do not have transport or are unable to access regular buses. The HandyBus carries wheelchairs and of course our drivers always help with heavy shopping bags and trolleys. There are many reasons why you may be eligible to use the bus. If you have a bus pass it's free. If you do not have one we can help you get one. The bus can carry up to 14 passengers as well as one or two wheel chairs. The tail lift makes it easy to load wheelchairs or heavy shopping. Each day the bus has its regular duties which include shopping at Tesco and Waitrose. Mos weekdays it takes passengers to the Over 60s Social Club in the town centre.
The bus is also available for outings in the evenings and at weekends. Examples are: to garden centres, for coffee mornings and afternoon teas. To find out about availability, please call Robin Popham on 01491 571974.
The HandyBus is also pleased to drive members of The Meteor Club (a Mencap charity) to regular social events. On two Thursday mornings each month we drive members of the Stroke Club Art Class.
We want the bus to be used by as many people as possible so, if you are wondering if it might be right for you, please call 01491 571974 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
